The Galilee & Nazareth shore excursion will begin with a drive to Nazareth. A mixed city today, Nazareth was Jesus’ hometown and where Christians believe Mary received the Annunciation from Angel Gabriel, that she would conceive and become a mother.
We will visit the Church of Annunciation, where many believe the underground Grotto is Mary’s childhood home. Next, we will visit the Church of St. Joseph where according to tradition, used to be Joseph’s carpentry workshop. In the lower part of the church, there are 2000 years old fascinating archaeological remains from ancient Nazareth.
From Nazareth, we will head north to a beautiful overlook of the Valley of Armageddon (Megiddo). According to the scripts, this will be the site the final battle of Armageddon will take place.
The Galilee Region
Our next stop, on the Galilee & Nazareth tour from Haifa port, will be on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. We will visit Mt. of the Beatitudes overlooking the lake and head to Capernaum – Where Jesus spent most of his adult life and where he began preaching. There will be an option to lunch at the Sea of Galilee for those who would like to.
Next, we will visit Tabgha, where Jesus performed the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.
We will drive along the shore of the Sea of Galilee to the origin of the Jordan river and visit a baptismal site where you will have the chance to get baptized.
On our way back to the port, we will stop by an overlook of Haifa, including the Baha’i Gardens and Temples, if time permits. It is a magnificent view of Haifa Bay, and you will be able to take a picture of your ship from the top. We will arrive at the port in time for your departure or overnight stay.

Weather during the summer is hot during the day (26-32 C/ 80-90 F) and gets cooler in the evenings. The good news is that humidity is minimal in most parts of Israel.
- Recommended on all tours to bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen.
- We recommend bringing a small travel bag to store extra clothing and personal belongings.
- We are doing quite a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Since we will be visiting some sacred sites in Nazareth, it is worth reminding everyone that the custom in Israel is to keep knees and shoulders covered inside the Churches.
